I don’t know about you but I hate paying full price for anything. Like hate, hate, double hate, LOATHE paying full price. I’m constantly filling my cart online, waiting for those Old Navy and American Eagle sale emails to show up in my inbox, then going back to place my order.
It’s the same with TeachersPayTeachers. My wishlist is at least five miles long and I try to hold out until sale days because I LOVE a good deal. (And let’s be honest…with a teacher salary, our wallets love a good deal too!) We all know those site-wide sale days are few and far between so if there’s something I absolutely HAVE to have in between sales, I’ll cash in some of my TpT credits.
What are TpT credits? Well, they’re basically free money. Did you know that whenever you purchase a resource on TpT, you have the opportunity to leave feedback for the seller and when you do that, you earn credits that you can put towards your future paid purchases! According to TpT, “each credit has a value of 5 cents, so every 20 credits earned equals $1”. TpT will also round up when giving you credits so for example, if you paid $5.75 for a resource, they’ll give you 6 credits!

1.) Locate your purchases.
Hover over your name at the top of the screen then click “My Purchases”.

2.) Make sure you’re looking at your paid purchases.
Feedback on free downloads is GREATLY appreciated but you can only earn credits for resources that you’ve paid for so make sure you have “Paid Purchases” selected.

3.) Click “Leave a review”.
There is a thumbs up icon under the name of the resource you purchased. Click it!

4.) Leave a review!
Clicking the “Leave a review” button on the previous page will send you to a screen that looks like this and you’ll need to click “Leave a review” again.

5.) Select the learning format.
Select the learning format that you used the resource with. If it’s something you purchased but did not use with students, select “My own purposes”.

6.) Select the grade level and group of students.
Choose the grade level that you used the resource with and if you used the resource with students who have specific needs, select the option that best reflects your group of kids.

7.) Choose your star rating and write your review!
Select the number of stars that match your level of satisfaction then write your review.
If for some reason, you were not extremely satisfied with the resource or it doesn’t match the product description and you’ve reflected that in your star rating, it’s helpful to have your written review reflect that as well. As sellers, we strive for five stars and your feedback is a really helpful way for us to improve our work. Also, if there were errors in the resource or you experienced tech issues with the product, reach out to the seller and give them the opportunity to correct the problem BEFORE leaving feedback. Sellers are almost always willing to work with you to make it right! If you need to reach the seller for help before leaving your review, the Q&A tab in their store is a great way to reach them. Most sellers also include their contact information somewhere within the resource.

Now that you’ve left feedback, you’re probably wondering how much you have to spend. Locating your balance is easy! Simply go back to the top of the page, hover over your name again, then click on “Account Balance”.

This page will tell you how much you have available to spend as well as any contributions to your TpT ClassFund, how many credits you earned for each resource, and your balance history.

I hope you found this tutorial helpful. Happy Shopping!
